Who is responsible
The game is run by Lorenzo Lupi (VAT number / P.IVA 04517780161, SDI code KRRH6B9), the owner of www.pelotology.com. For anything about your data write to lorenzo@pelotology.com. The general privacy policy of the site also applies: www.pelotology.com/privacy.
Your account
You play with your www.pelotology.com account. When you log in, the site sends the game only your account number (user ID) and your username, with a signed pass that is valid for a few minutes and can be used only once. The game never sees your password, e-mail address, orders or payment details.
Your in-game name starts as your username; you can change it from the character page ("Change name"). Names are unique, so nobody else can play as you.

Your in-game name, wins and number of games can appear in the public rankings. Data are kept on a server in the European Union (Aruba, Italy) and are not sold or shared for advertising.
Cookies and browser storage
The game uses technical cookies only: one keeps you logged in, the other (only for guests) counts the free matches. There are no advertising, profiling or third-party tracking cookies, so no consent banner is needed; this page is the information about them.

The game also keeps a few preferences in your browser's local storage (they never leave your device):
your colour, sound and animation settings, text hints, automatic end of turn, log open or closed, the hero you last chose,
and the current game so you can continue after reloading the page (keys starting with vol.).
Deleting the site data in your browser removes them.
Logging in goes through www.pelotology.com, which uses its own cookies: see the site's cookie policy.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or to be removed from the rankings, by writing to lorenzo@pelotology.com. You can also complain to the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, garanteprivacy.it).
Browser requirements
Village of Legends runs in the browser: there is nothing to install. You need:
- a recent browser: Safari 16.4 or later (iPhone, iPad and Mac), Chrome or Edge 105 or later, Firefox 128 or later;
- JavaScript and cookies turned on (private browsing works, but you will have to log in again each time);
- an internet connection for the whole game;
- on a phone, play in landscape for the best view. You can also add the game to your home screen (Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen).
Older browsers may show the table wrongly or not let you play.
